(twst Slashfic) Engagement ceremony (pt.2 last part)

The ballroom is decorated beautifully, a long table is being organized for the Royal family to sit together, while several smaller Rounds tables are set up with Gilded name plates; the Dance floor of the Ballroom is inset with floor and is getting one last sweeping before all the guests arrives.. Falena along side his Wife, Asha, are at the doorway greeting everyone that comes in, from families, foreign royals, staff and press; Cheka, now 9 years old, is flopped on the floor staring at the ceiling, several times Falena and Asha can be heard telling their son to get up… Leona and Dex walk down the hall to the Ballroom, Dex slowly getting more and more nervous knowing that soon several whole kingdoms will know of their relationship with the second prince of the Sunset Savanna; Leona notices their Fox’s expression shift, he slowly wraps their tails together along with gently rubbing their hand
Leona: We can leave right now.. we haven't even made it to the Ballroom yet,
Dex shakes their head: n-no.. I can do this.. I did choose to be with a Prince after all, gotta get used to this, ya know?
Leona leans in his partner’s hair: you at least won't have to deal with this once we start traveling..
Dex rests on Leona’s arm, calming down with his partner’s warmth.. once they're seen approaching the grand entryway to the Ballroom, Cheka is seen Waving fast at the two before running up to them.. Leona growls at the sight
Cheka gives them both a big hug Dex smiles hugging the cub back while Leona just pats the cubs head
Cheka: Is it true that Mister FoxFox will be my Unca soon?!
Leona smugly: well they do have better tastes in Lions
Dex playfully pushes him a bit: yeah, I'll be your Unca soon enough, just gotta marry Leona first
Cheka happily jumping on his toes: Unca FoxFox! Oh! Oh! Ya wanna play a game?!??
Dex shakes their head: sorry buddy we can't play tonight, it's a ball remember?
Cheka Crosses his arms and pouts: buuut it's Soo boring!
Leona: that we can agree on..
Dex reached into their pocket and pulls out a handheld gaming system, the cub and Lion watch as the Fox opens it up, turning it on to hear a nostalgic tune before turning the volume down
Dex hands the system to Cheka: here this'll be fun for you, it's a gaming device! But it means a lot to me so be very careful with it ok?
Cheka nods with a serious expression, turning to look at the device he opens the game showing on the screen then starts a new game being very careful to not drop it at all on the way to finding his seat, sitting down already being super absorbed into the games
Leona: Why did you give that to him?
Dex: oh it's an indestructible copy of a system I already have.. Idia made it for me
Leona: What was the game on it then?
Dex shrugs: it's some RPG Idia raved about, it wasn't my thing, but it'll distract him probably up till the food is served,
Leona kisses Dex’s Forehead: Damn, I love you..
Dex kisses him: I love you, Leo
Falena sees the couple, greeting them with open arms, Patting Leona on the back, giving a handshake to Dex, Asha nodded to the two taking their hands and shaking them
Asha smiling: it's wonderful to see you found your mate Leona, Dex I know you'll make him happy too
Leona rubs the back of his head with his free arm
Falena: I must say this'll be a first for us
Dex: what..? What do you mean?
Falena: Well.. this'll be the first time we ever host an engagement ceremony for someone not of our own world.. also the first time for a same sex couple like you two..
Dex stiffens at that point: First time celebrating a Same sex Relationship??
Leona starts trying to mime to his brother to shut up, Asha also saw the danger in that question
Falena grins innocently: Ah! Yes! The Sunset Savanna has never had a Royal till you two who've engaged in same sex Relationships as publicly! It'll be a memorable day for Savannian history!
Asha’s head falls into her hand, Leona starts to glare at his brother, muttering and growling incoherently, quickly taking his partner away before his brother makes it worse.. Dex hides their head into Leona’s chest, The Lion guides the Fox to their seat helping them sit down, gently rubbing their hand
Dex blinks: are we Really the first same sex couple in your family's bloodline??
Leona sigh: That I know of, Yes we are.. but I don't know if we're actually the first or it just wasn't documented
Dex lays their head on the table hiding themselves with their arms
Dex muffled: this isn't happening…
Leona chuckles lowly, slowly starts to kiss their neck causing the Fox to jump, and Yip.. The Lion rests on the Fox arms playfully kissing their hands and neck, Dex shivers every kiss to their neck, slowly the Fox begins to purr causing Leona to hum in union
Soon the ceremony starts, Family members Aristocrats, Nobles, press, guards and staff filled the room; Cheka, still super absorbed into the game given to him, Felena and Asha roam the room chatting with everyone. Leona isn't bothering leaving his seat while Dex is chatting with a few of the other family members, so I familiar voice is heard greeting the Fox from behind,
Dex turns Xena holding a child: Hey Dex, been a bit huh?
Dex: Xena! Yeah it has been! A think the last time I saw you, ya threatened me with “putting me into an enteral sleep”
Xena sighs: not my best moment..
Dex shrugs: ehhh water under the bridge, it's fine you're not the first person who's threatened my life
Dex playfully leans to look at her child in the face, the small cub hides his face into Xena's short jacket
Dex coos: who's this little one?
Xena: This is my Son.. he's shy at the moment..
Dex: Well he's adorable, is his father here?
Xena looks away: nooo.. he doesn't have one
Dex: oh.. sorry I didn't.. know..
Xena: It's fine.. I don't remember who he was anyway..
Dex places a hand on her shoulder: hey.. it's aight, ya got Leo and I here for you
Xena side hugs them to not disturb her child
Dex: So have you talked to Leona yet?
Xena: no, I saw you first
Dex: well go on, I'm sure he'd be happy to see you again
Xena smiles: I'll do that later, I know he's not a fan of children
Dex nods in acknowledgement as they watch Xena walk off to start talking to some aristocrat, soon everyone is sat down then Felena stands tall starting to give a speech, all the guests eyes are on the King's frame, raising his glass to the crowd he cleared his throat
Falena: I welcome you all here today! We are here to celebrate the engagement of my dear brother and his future husband!
"future husband??” a heard whispered throughout the crowd; None expected to hear that word specifically, Dex turned red, they felt themselves being pulled closer to his partner.. Leona knew that his brother has a knack for making things awkward
Falena proudly: Now I would like my brother to talk more about his partner along with his life going forward!
Leona growled.. he knew his brother well enough to know he would've made him give a speech, he Reluctantly let's go of his Fox, standing up like it pains him while the King sits down so all the eyes could be on the Second born
Leona Bluntly: Thank you all for coming, Yes this is future husband, and if any of you Herbivores have an issue with them you will answer to me.. finally I will be becoming the new foreign affairs diplomat for the Sunset Savanna, once again if you have any issues with this you will talk to me..
Leona sat down annoyed but more concerned about his partner he held them close enough that their chair scoots next to him
Falena stands back up to advert the attention but more of guest are still in shock from Leona's creed
Falena: Now we're here to honor their love and this first for Savannian history! Now let's all feast and dance the night away!
Falena raised his glass in cheer and the crowd joined
the rest of the night several people went up to Dex and Leona, together and separately, mainly were confused by the second prince taking a husband, some congratulated them for being so open with their relationship, along with a few girls upset that they lost their chances with the younger prince, some of them being more mad that they lost their chances to a man; Dex was simply chatting with a young cousin when they overheard a suspiciously loud conversation
Tigress: I can't believe Prince Leona would waste his life with some guy!
Cheetah: I knooow he's wasting his bloodline, ya know how many girls would kill to have his children, they'd be set for life!
Lioness: exactly! Prince Leona should've been with a woman someone who could give him more than a desperate queer
Dex's ear flicked at their conversation.. trying the best they could to not explode and continue their original conversation with the cousin.. their tail fur stood on ends, Ears pinning back, an eye welled up, teeth grinding… the Fox really wanted to knock some sort sense into every word those girls say.. talking about Leona like he's a expensive cut of meat.. Dex couldn't care less about the ladies' opinions of them, but he wasn't going to let some brats talk about their Lion like this.. Dex turned to tell them off but the moment they did they saw Xena approaching, her arms free..Xena taps the other Lioness on the shoulder..
Lioness: Ugh.. What do YOU want..? I'm surprised they let a traitor back in
Xena had sickly sweet grin: Well unlike you I actually grew up with Leona so I know he wouldn't touch you with a 20 foot pole
Lioness turns scoffing: he didn't pick you either!
The Lioness pushes Xena, who stepped back a step before she wound up her arm to punch the Lioness square in the face making the Lioness fall on the ground with bloody nose the Crowd turned to all the commotion only seeing the aftermath
Xena: rule number one of the Lioness Always be able to fight back
The girls pick up the Lioness sneering at Xena
Tigress: You brutal whore! You tried to kill her!
Cheetah: how can an outcast like you be allowed back with that violent streak!
Lioness: You're just a homewrecker! You should've been killed!
The women look behind them to see Queen Asha and Leona
Asha shakes her head: Xena Lullabone.. I expect better from the soon to be head of Guard..
Xena curtseys: Sorry my queen, I was just doing my job
Asha gives a low laugh before leading the women out of the Ballroom with Xena following behind soon the crowd returned to normal Leona turns to Dex, sighing and rubbing his temple in annoyance..
Leona: for what? Those ladies started it by talking about you that loudly.. I almost gave them a piece of my mind..
Dex laughs that annoyingly loud laugh soon snorting and using Leona as balance, He chuckled, patting their head..
Leona: Now what's so funny?
Dex calming down: sorry, sorry, I just can't see you scolding a woman like how Xena or the Queen can
Leona rests his forehead on their: who said anything about scolding? I just was gonna remind them that I chose who I want, and I choose you..
Dex kisses his cheek: and I choose you
Leona leans into to kiss them then takes their hand
Leona smugly: may I have this dance?
Dex playfully gasps: Leona Kingscholar? Dancing?? Who are you and what have you done with my future husband?
Leona let's go of their hand: oookay if you don't want to dance with you could just say it
Dex takes his hand back: you know that's was a joke,
Dex: yes you do, Carnivore
Leona holds their hand, moving their other hand to his shoulder before lowering his free hand to the fox’s waist; they slowly start to move to the rhythm of the music.. only focused on each other, they never noticed that the crowd was parted and was watching them move so in sync with each other.. Dex rests on their fiance’s chest, he soon rested his head on their head as well, the crowd now we're leading their partners to the Ballroom floor as well not too long before the floor was filled with couples dancing Asha and Xena return to the Ballroom and see the scene that was a welcomed changed to violence that was just a few minutes ago
Falena soon is in front of his wife, holding a hand out to her, the queen gleefully took her king’s hand allowing him to guide her to the floor to join the crowd, Xena leans on the wall looking over to her son who's watching Cheka play his game she sighed before returning her gaze to the happy couple
Dex: never expected that I'd end up with a Prince..
Leona: What did you expect?
Dex: I don't know anymore, but I'm glad I met you.. you're my first and my last I hope you know
Leona hums: you're my first and last too..
