hello, im so sorry if this is a dumb question- im using the fluorine theme on mooncovesnight(.)tumblr(.)com, and the chat bubbles for the chat post types don't seem to work. im not sure if im using the post type or the theme incorrectly... thank you!
Hi, it's not a dumb question at all, don't worry!! You aren't the first to run into this issue.
On your blog, when you access the permalink page of the "chat" post, its post type is listed as a "text" post instead (highlighted in yellow below). This is because the chat post has been reblogged as an NPF post, and so the styling for chat posts is not applied.
NPF unfortunately still hasn't been given much documentation and support, so it's hard for theme makers to support them in their custom themes too. To ensure your posts are not reblogged as NPF posts, you will need to turn off the (beta) new post editor when you reblog posts, because when it's on, the reblogged posts get converted to NPF. The toggle is at the top right of the screen on desktop.
Once it's turned off, the chat posts should show up in the chat message log style as intended. Hope this helps!
