WORKING AT THE AVENGERS TOWER WAS A WEIRD EXPERIENCE. on one hand, peter felt like he was doing EXACTLY what tony wanted him to do. pursue a CAREER in engineering, while still being SPIDERMAN and, in a way, not letting the stark legacy even slow down. of course, he would never be AS SMART as him, no matter how hard he tried. he would leave that to MORGAN, when she eventually grows up. but he could at least TRY to keep the stark name as relevant as it ever was, while she wasn’t ready to TAKE OVER the reign. on the other... everytime he went into that building, he kept expecting to SEE tony and he was never there.
at least, being there gave him a chance to KEEP UP with all things avengers, without the whole trying to protect him because he’s just a kid. which was EVERYTHING he ever wanted and at the same time his WORST nightmare. being your friendly neighbourhood spiderman was already a FULL TIME JOB and he never realized before how close the whole world was to ending on a daily basis before.
❝ oh hey, nat! ❞ his face LIT up when he saw the woman walk through the office doors. they didn’t see eachother much, nat too busy keeping world peace and all. ❝ how was your trip? less SNOW-Y than new york? ❞ he asked, thankful for having someone to DISTRACT him from his never stopping thoughts. sometimes he did really MISS having time for any social interaction. just any.
