Sunflower stalk Xiao in Ney tuning As Bamboo, Agundo donax and other canes are not growing big enough in Germany for making deep sounding flutes with a larger diameter, I started making flutes from Sunflower stalks last year. Those grow in abundance in Germany (oil production). The stalk for this one has dred for one year. I found it on a "cut-yourself-a-flower" plantation . The other German cane I use is Lovage.
