“Von Rothbart” by Daria Theodora

For the 2015 Month of Fear challenge: Villain.

Here is Von Rothbart, the evil sorcerer in Swan Lake. He is also the father of the black swan, Odile, and thus I depicted him carrying her.

Note: This is supposed to be for the first week, which I thought is this week.

Inktober #1

I missed Inktober last year, so I though I should give it a try this year.

Did this with only brush and ink on washi paper. The paper itself is different from the regular watercolor or bristol paper I usually used. This one is pretty thin and very absorbent. Still learning how to control the ink.

No preliminary pencil, no planning, since I was short of time.

I did this a few months ago for the Art Order challenge called F(r)iction. My idea was to illustrate Hemingway’s “The Old Man and the Sea”.
