 bennett had been avoiding dominic as best as she could. using work as an excuse for coming home just as he was drifting off to sleep and leaving before he woke up. a week. that's how long she was able to keep it up before the excuse fell flat on her lips when he cornered her against the kitchen island. "you usually have no problems with getting me excited." she tried to joke, hoping slightly that he took the bait. but he was right, wasn't he? "in my defense, i read that it was bad luck for the pregnancy to tell anyone before the second trimester." she shrugged. not usually one for superstition though, but this was her first and she wasn't taking any chances. it would have killed her to get excited and tell dominic and everyone just for something to happen.

"however, i'll leave the not telling you about things in the past, okay?" her lips pressed to his forehead now before moving her head to rest against his shoulder. "anyway, according to online we're gonna wanna stock up on some ice cream."

"dominic..." bennett trailed off, her fingers grazing lazily along his chest. "i'm not ever going to leave you." because she was terrified of what he or his sister would do to her if she ever tried leaving. she knew too much. too many things that could have them both put away for life. although that was actually a really small reason on why she wouldn't leave him. the true reason was how in love with him she was. even if something ever did happen and they didn't work out - she'd still love him. still protect him any way she could.
