She still wasn’t sure if it was the flames bigger than a stovetop burner or the fact that the ghosts often appeared and she saw them burn. Whatever it was, it was clear that it triggered her pyrophobia and the PTSD that she inevitably had. Other hunters made her wary and since Jess had a few close calls with other hunters back when she desperately needed help, she tried to avoid them. Right now, her only goal was to make sure he knew that she was harmless.
