beautiful and lovely @exy-king tagged me on this. I feel so honored, really. Thank you <3 I don’t have 20 stories though, so i’ll do 10. (I’ll include chapters too, not only different stories.)
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories. See if there are any patterns. Then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
1. “Laurent. Laurent, brother, are you awake?”
2. The first time, Laurent woke up with a sob.
3. “Come, nephew.”
4. That morning, Noah was preparing himself for his daily routine.
5. It was yet to be morning, the sky outside the bedroom was of a blue-ish gray, not yet covered by the sun’s light.
6. Laurent de Vere woke up, and thought he had finally reached a conclusion: when you’re grieving, you feel numb, like you have another ten layers of skin and you simply cannot feel a thing.
7. He stood outside for a minute, catching his breath, before he opened the door.
8. "Good morning, Vanitas."
9. “Are you going home?”
10. Everyone held their breath.
The patterns I found is that 1) I love to start chapters/stories with quotes, or direct lines without giving much detail of what’s happening at first. I like to start by just throwing the readers into the scene. 2) I hurt characters (especially Laurent) way too much.
