Gale, doll, my beautiful she-wolf, things have caused me to need to leave the city. Stay divine and we'll always have the couch, or what's left of it. ~Jared
Gale was in her Jacuzzi outside, with her phone inside for today she was not working for the King. She was simply relaxing and thinking back on everything like she did when she was bored. Not even the ocean view was enough to distract her. She truly needed a permanent slave within her house as renting was starting to be a bother. She stepped out of the warm water and made her way back inside, her dripping and bare body moving gracefully. She saw she had received many text messages and she smiled when she saw she had one from Jared.
But her smile fell completely upon reading what had been written.
"No…" she whispered in denial. He could not… not after Rurik, she could not lose Jared too.
She dressed quickly and ran out, she had to see, had to be certain, and the truth of his departure was made clear upon seeing neither Baelfire nor his presence within the master’s house. She stayed by the house for twenty-four hours, refusing to believe it.
Then she had gone back to her place and destroyed all the furniture, screaming and raging because she was in pain, because this was not how it had supposed to unfold. Now she had lost the two men who had been so dear to her…
Days, weeks, passed and she learned of Jared’ slave fate of the lost of his memory and she did what she could to help. She had more money and she would use it, so she paid for the slave to regain what she could pay for. His cell, a mattress and his cigarettes, something she remembered from their brief meetings…
She had yet to repair the damages done to the inside of her house.
