Within other times, such occurrences as witnessed by Matias most recently would be deemed as something preposterous. Simply impossible to conceive and too far fetch for a major part of the science community, but as he could see and so did his colleagues, due to technology advancements, what they thought to be an inside view within a person’s dreamscape and a marvelous new way to study the neurological nature of an individual, turned out to actually be a very raw and true view into either the existence of anything left of a person after they have perished -- As again, one could do experiences on animals and volunteers, but due to unethical reasons and taking advantage of bodies kindly donated for science, such experiences were being done on corpses and so that explains this thought process -- Or the other option offered for what they could had seen within their system could be an view into what remains beyond the curtains that had remained closed for a long time and left without respond. Or well, they weren’t so sure of what they thought, so that’s why they joined forces to study this case.

Which explains why a search for neurological research wouldn’t only have specialists in the business present within the research sessions, new doctors within the realm despite Matias being a general doctor, as he had a quite open mind and had a some experience and knowledge or diverse things, which could offer another view and different points to the topic with different eyes and so happened to be the same with a whole team of paranormal investigative team with also different views, experiences and each own with their specialties, which wasn’t only intriguing to see, exciting, if he had to be honest with himself and brought to the table a possible collaboration between their own world and the science one, which had been in a constant fight for years, due to the different points of view.

There was also another thing he really was enthusiastic about. Yes, he was proud to make part of a research team and be on the forefront for new discoveries and to explore new things, hearing other fresh perspectives on the meantime, but the young doctor also was feeling refreshed for feeling a new sort of feeling bloom within him. One of the female members from the paranormal investigative team that also actively participated in the search had him completely smitten, which wasn’t something he usually would focus on and think of, but here he was. He found her fascinating, beautiful and very smart, so a lot of times, he found himself hypnotized, completely in focus with her words and despite being so shy, he wouldn’t run away from adding to a conversation, when she was able to pull his interest in. Maddie and her peers had him interested in their experiences and what stories they had to tell.

“It is true we could search this file of video we are viewing for any clues we might have that could lead to a place in real life and see what we get from there? I suppose I can go. I would be curious to see what comes of this, if you don’t mind me joining that is, but I suppose I can still aid here as well.” Matias suggested as he glanced at the recordings they managed to gather from the machinery the scientists had created for the collective team to investigate and although he was blushing and coughing softly after replying to the female suggestion, wanting an excuse to be near her which in this was was to tag into a man hunt for documentation or anything they could gather from the grainy video they were presented with.

Matias was always the type to be kind, cheerful and overall a good kid, so it was no wonder that when his mother requested him to give explanations to the neighbor’s daughter that turns out to be the daughter of her best friend, that Matias accepted no matter how much he wanted to focus on his own studies. High school, as some students could agree with, was the most important time within someone’s life. He did believe that people could have other chances and resources if wanting to follow a path, for as long as they would give themselves to it, but for him, when he wanted so badly to become a doctor, he saw it as his main chance. The better he did high school, the more chances he would have to enter in a good university, then the better education and reputation he would have and the better prepared he would be to help people as a doctor, so even when he did wanted the neighbor’s daughter to succeed as well, he didn’t want to put his heart on her just in order to see her fail. It would mean that he also would fail and that he would had lost his time and hers. Yet nonetheless he would give it a try, of course. He had heard a few things of her and couldn’t help but to feel a little reluctant already with the idea, but also not wanting to give into rumors without knowing her himself, he just brought himself to ring the door’s bell while having the books in hand.

“Hey, mom told me you needed some help? Are you ready?” Matias asked as he scratched the top of his head nervously, once retracting his hand from the neighbor’s bell.

Matias sadly realized a few things about his feelings and thought about what Grace could feel for him as well when it was a little too late. Once the party ended and he drove on his own, all he could recall was that he lost control over his car, but aside from that? Nothing much he supposed. He still felt fine, although something did seem off somehow, he had to admit, but he was able to slide his way out the scrunched up car and made his way by foot out into the night as his heart hammered within his rib cage. The road was silent due to being empty, his feet barely made any noise, at least compared to the overpowering nature around him (or he assumed that would be the reason he didn’t heard his feet) and when finding a large structure he assumed to be a hotel of any kind, he knocked on the door.

Should he just enter? Wait by the door? The male wanted to ask for help and a place to stay, but not knowing the hours and vacancy the place had available and not being sure if his assumption was correct, he thought it was best to wait outside, besides, his mind could be in shambles due to the accident, so he thought it was best to use precaution for whatever thoughts he would have after the car took him for such a spin.

Matias was usually a sort of pale lanky guy, but surely never like on times like this. Instead of seating properly, the male slid down his own seat, so he wouldn’t face the reality that he was faced upon, thus avoiding all windows or anything else actually. He tried to count through his fingers before inhaling deeply, keeping his air in and then exhaling in a pace as slow, so he could try to relax, avoid an anxiety attack.

“It’s for the best of all, Matias. You can do this, pal.” The male murmured to himself as if the calming words would keep his trembling and cold sweat dripping down by the back of his neck at bay.

Biography:

The doctor doesn’t like to get in too much details of his private life, not only because he is a professional and prefers to separate professional and personal matters within different sides of the spectrum, but also because his story is a little sad. On the must part of the time, he relays on his family, friends and job, on which he has a bit of a obsession over, but when at home, he finds himself alone. Matias, used to be a happy-go-lucky child, with his head full of dreams and was playful, but all took a turn on a time during Christmas where he and his parents and little sister got on a airplane to visit the rest of his family on San Luis where he actually has been raised by his early days of age and the plane had an accident where great part of passengers lost their lives. He doesn’t like to think of it in terms of numbers, so he didn’t ever ask how many for certain and he doesn’t want to know of other details either. All he recalls is the plane meeting the water after a frenzy, the screams of all people right before impact, the graphic details of the people lost to the accident, those including his little sister Sofia and mother Ana and the fear of planes and large bodies of water that he fears to this day despite the help that going to the therapist offers.

Even when he knew that as a young child and on a situation like that, he couldn’t do much else, he vowed to save people and become someone of help on the world and today he became a general surgeon.

He obviously still feels great sorrow  and is scared due to the accident he lived through as a small child at the tender age of six, but he has more layers to himself as everyone else and isn’t just an empty shell as much as he assumes that he might be.
