♡: Our muses kiss under a mistletoe
Jaebum isn’t a ‘party’ person.
As much of a ‘in-your-face’ kind of guy he is, he doesn’t really enjoy social gatherings that much. All of the need for small talk, and societal conventions were tiring to keep up with and frankly, stifling. He had boundless of energy to expend, but he was kind of a one-on-one person. Mingling with multiple people at once… not really his thing. And Jaebum did’t like to waste his energy on things that were hardly of importance to him.
So how he ended up in this rowdy ‘little’ Christmas eve gathering, he’ll never know (also how the hell does one seem to fit half the city in this cramped apartment?)… actually, he does. He was bored (and maybe a little lonely) and everyone else’s whereabouts were unknown save for Tox’s. One thing led to another, and he’d just so conveniently decided to crash his party, seeking his company. But of course, not all plans always goes his way and he finds it almost impossible to even get close to the guy. One minute he’s there, the next he’s not. He swears the old man knows he’s here and is using the crowd to avoid him.
Since when did Tox have so many ‘friends’ anyway? He’d always assumed the guy was the type people couldn’t stand, you know, just like him.
In the end, he gives up (albeit grudgingly) and settles for drinking punch by the empty kitchen, far, far away from the crazy beer chugging that was happening in the living room. And the awkward sounds escaping the bedrooms and closets that seem to be louder than the Christmas rock songs blasting from the speakers (so Tox like).
He hasn’t been there long when another, unfamiliar male walks into the kitchen, distributing his peaceful isolation.
"Oh, hey. One of Tox’s acquaintances?"
Jaebum has to give it to the guy though. Not drunk, not noisy, seemingly, not crazy (though he isn’t one to say that). Guess he doesn’t mind how the guy disrupted his peace and quite that much.
"Mmh ~ You could say that ~" He chuckles dryly. "Party too much for you to handle?"
Jaebum hears a soft mumble of affirmation and he hears the guy settle down in the chair beside him, punch in hand. Looks like the stranger was here to stay. Downing the rest of his drink in one shot, he likes his lips as he focuses all of his attention on empty cup, very, very aware of the way the male beside was scrutinising him. He doesn’t feel up to his usual snide, snappy self (all he wants to do is drink more punch, thank you very much) - festive seasons tended to send him into more sentimental, profound, thoughtful moods - so he let’s the action slide without so much of a impish remark.
He hears a soft, ‘hey’ again from the other male, and lazily turns his head to face him and is met with something unexpected…
Was that lips he was feeling on his lips? Ermm…
Jaebum isn’t sure how to react to the… kiss, so he sits there like a stone block. He’s never had much experience with stuff like that anyway. Romance wasn’t really up his alley, with him finding the concept difficult to grapple with. He doesn’t know how to kiss nor react to it, let alone with a stranger. All of this was so, so odd. Even for Jaebum.
It feels like a lifetime before said stranger pulled away, smiling pleasantly at him.
"Mistletoe." He explains simply, pointing a finger up.
In return, Jaebum graces the man with an absolutely blank, stone face, which was a perfect representation of what was going on in his mind at the moment. Nothing.
That of course, is enough to get the stranger’s confident smile melt in to that of a sheepish one. With a soft chuckle and a giggly “Merry Christmas” the guy disappears out of the kitchen back into the rowdy party, leaving Jaebum, still dumbstruck, behind. It takes awhile, but when the cogs in his brain finally start up again, he feels blood rushing to his ears and creeping up his neck in a natural reaction he tries to force down.
He doesn’t like to admit it, but kissing is his weak spot.
