I never see anyone talk about the way John looked at Erik when he abandoned Raven because she became human.
He was so close to being close to beginning the process of being de-indoctrinated. 😔

The most secondhand-embarrassment-inducing movie scene to me is in X-Men: The Last Stand when John (an doctrinated teenager trying to get higher in his terrorist leader's Good Graces) says he would've killed Charles if he had the chance, and that shit backfires so fast and Erik puts him in his place. 😭
I'm probably gonna get cooked for saying this, but:
X-Men doesn't really hit the same once you realize that mutants actually aren't a good metaphor for marginalized people in society because generalizing and hating and fearing people for their race/sexuality/etc isn't the same as humans fearing mutants. Someone isn't inherently dangerous for those things, and while mutants aren't inherently dangerous either, it's 100% understandable to distrust and fear someone who can mind control you and crush your car with you in it if they're in the mood.
This all sounded better in my head, but TLDR: Humans in the X-Men/Marvel universes aren't wrong for fearing mutants. (And as we know, fear leads to hate.)
I realized something about John in X-Men: The Last Stand recently: He's kind of... void of personality. He has almost no depth in that movie aside from one (1) scene. He wasn't even funny or a little silly like he was in X2. He just doesn't seem the same in TLS, and it's taken me over 18 years to realize it.
I blame Brett Ratner.
Idk what's going on, but I'm disappointed in my boy Scott for having fucking MAGNETO and Juggernaut on his team. What th fuck?!? 😭
I finally watched The New Mutants last week on it’s 1-year anniversary!
I didn’t get to see it in theaters, and then once it come out on digital/DVD, I simply didn’t buy it? Was it my anxiety? I was kind of just waiting for it to come on streaming, and then it came on HBO MAX. And for months... I didn’t watch it. Half of me was scared I wouldn’t like it, and the other half wasn’t ready to watch a Fox X-Men movie for the first time... for the last time. (I haven’t watched the Deadpool movies yet, but I don’t count them, and I don’t want to ever watch the first one anyway.)
IT WAS NOT A BAD MOVIE, haters were full of lies!
Dani & Rahne are cute, and I ship Bobby/Illyana/Sam in a poly-ship; I found myself shipping her with both of them and shipping the guys with each other as well. No, I am not accepting discourse.
