Pillows for POWER: Rose Clancy & Amber Coppings

For their Pillows for POWER contribution, Pittsburgh artists Rose Clancy and Amber Coppings created two collaborative pieces. 

Amber is a textile artist who specializes in Japanese shibori hand-dyed fabric creations, textural sewing and surface pattern design. Her work attempts to create a visual dialogue between art, craft and design. Recent work ranges from a site-specific installation that, when taken out of the gallery, became wearable art; to one-of-a-kind multi-layered, hand-dyed tapestries; to handmade fashion accessories. Best-known for her streetwear line, Xmittens, Ms. Coppings has had far-reaching success. Her work can be found adorning customer's bodies and homes in 33 countries around the world.

The Pillows for POWER auction and sale is part of the sixth annual Sunflower POWER, a celebration of National Recovery Month, scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th at PerLora on the South Side (2220 E Carson Street).
