✾ - Why I chose my character

٩(･ิᴗ･ิ๑)۶oh my god we asked each other the same question ha ha ha

okay well tbh when i first played p4 i was a little mollusk and i didn’t really like any lady characters other than Yukiko. i was more focused on the boy characters. i didn’t touch the game for awhile after that but when i decided to replay it about half a year ago i grew strangely affectionate towards everyone, but Rise in particular. Yukari and Rise both get a lot of flack in the fandom for being the lovers arcana with interest in the protagonist, and i started thinking “that’s really dumb.”i sort of connected with Rise on the level that she was trying to find out who she was after being someone else for so long. on my level, it’s obviously not so extreme as having an idol persona, but i’ve never really “enjoyed” being myself. i’ve always roleplayed to escape reality and really got into the headspace of someone else, in high school i did theatre a lot too for the same reason.watching Rise grow and be accepted by her friends no matter what makes me feel warm and squishy inside. and in general she’s just so super cute. i love her peppy, positive attitude and her confidence (when she finds it.) so… yeah!

❣ - An unpopular opinion I have

(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞oh no why— honestly i think i have a few unpopular opinions but in the long run they are OPINIONS so i hope i don’t offend anyone.

i don’t enjoy seeing characters being pushed too far out of what i believe to be portrayed in game. a lot of headcanons i see are good! with stuff in the canon to lean on and what have you— but other times i see things that (i think) are personal preference more than anything.like, i love shipping, i am probably the biggest shipping whore ever, but i hardly ever initiate it too much because i end up thinking about it WAY too much.i like that some ships (imo) would NOT be cuddly and cute. some would be manipulating, controlling, and even violent. so sometimes the ships i think of are not even “relationships” but power struggles or something instead.that being said, i do think there are a lot of ships that just wouldn’t work, and i do accept that. i do care about more than shipping. 

does this even count as one opinion…? i dunno if i should go characters because i don’t want people to feel like i’m stepping on their portrayal.
