jungsoo nostalgia
the last time miyoung recalled being in jungsoo was a few years back when she was around seventeen or eighteen years, but now she's a grown woman at the current age of twenty two and she told herself upon stepping foot on this land, she wouldn't let the past get to her head or phase her. it was just a sweet break to herself, she earned it by working hard and adding in a few extra hours of work than the usual to help out the kids. it wasn't for the money but to see the bright smiles on their innocent, naive faces.
however, if there was anyone by any chance she didn't really want to encounter or certainly had no intention on stumbling upon was kris. it's been years, miyoung had been constantly telling herself mentally to get over it. he had his own life, he most likely, found someone better and she had all the years to move on. even, she herself too, finding someone better? it was possible and always had been but no matter how many times miyoung would try, there'd been that special place kris carved in her heart. they just couldn't be kris and in fact, no one could.
miyoung bit her lip franctically, eyeing her surroundings and it was all too nostalgic. the thoughts burst out, she was struck by lightning and taking ten steps back to memory lane. she sighed and shook her head painfully, remembering the last words she had told him was nothing. yes, nothing. she left him without a mere good bye or giving him a reason why, miyoung had made herself a fool for that part. an even bigger fool to let that mistake turn into something deeper, a regret. he didn't deserve that, he truthfully didn't and the only time she had realized this was when her mom threw her out again but after she lost kris, she gained and found minhee.
for all the times kris was there for miyoung, the times he made her smile and laugh, giggle, cry, all the memories really hit her. she held back the tears the best she could and told herself to be strong, that she wasn't going to be selfish and cry anymore.
cry no more, stephanie.
she clasped her hands together and breathed in and out a couple of times before finally picking up her own two feet to walk.
oof.
an accident, perhaps? miyoung was always clumsy when she was in a deep thinking zone and could have bumped into someone but she didn't, it was just the flag pole. she sighed in relief and went inside a cafe to get some food. she had to get her mind off of him, off of the memories-- memories are just memories. they're what used to be and it can't happen anymore, it just can't; not even her power would avail her.
however, the sight of a tall male distracted her and it was the first thing she immediately noticed when stepping in the cafe. her eyes widened and she placed her hand on her mouth, gasping. it's a time like this that she was lucky to be a mute, lucky that she wouldn't be noticed or at least, what she had hoped.
