A couple days after Christmas, Gilana started feeling a little lightheaded. Her throat hurt and her nose was a little stuffed. She would like to say that when she started feeling sick she could pull herself together, take some flu medicine and a cat nap and feel well enough to go about her day without being a complete baby but that would be a complete lie. After only a couple hours of fighting through a throbbing headache with absolutely no ability to breath through her nose, she slumped on the couch, curled among all the blankets she could find in the flat and surrounded by a sea of used tissues. When Niles finally walked through the door, Gilana whined and pointed uselessly at her bottle of water across the room on the coffee table. “Niles, please.”
