It's not Elena. No it can't be Elena.... but there are only two doppelgangers... or so Katherine thought. Katherine had vague knowledge that there was exactly one doppelganger before her.... but she had died. There were no other Doppelgangers. Just her. And Elena.

So who was this? And how did she know who Katherine was? At least well enough to know she wasn't how she expected her to be.

Arms cross, a defensive posture, and completely standard for the feeling of not meeting expectations. She may be used to that, but it doesn't mean she doesn't still internalize it either way. Time to puff up and appear threatening.

first of all: aaaah thank you so much for your kind words, norey! i absolutely love what you did with tatia. i'm eagerly awaiting where tatia's story goes next! i very much enjoy snooping on her threads. the ones with elijah, klaus and katherine, especially, are very intriguing to me.

second of all: i'm glad you brought up her perspective because 1) yes, she's very presumptuous and 2) it's very much a Youthful Way Of Looking At Things TM sometimes and i'm glad that translates.

also, i'm glad that the merge (haha ;P) worked out. it's something i'm really proud of. and yes, i also want to see the harman cousins in the tvdeu! someone bring us thea and blaise, please! <3

There is a simple, pine green box waiting in front of Katherine's door. Inside, a twisted vine bracelet sits atop a simple note saying:

Happy Birthday, Katherine. The bracelet answers to the command 'flykte'. Use sparingly.

The bracelet is indeed charmed; if the words are spoken, it can render the wearer invisible for a short period of time, enough to make a quick escape when the need arises. There is no signature on the note.

"A mystery bracelet with a code word I am more than certain i will not pronounce right.... what could possibly go wrong..."

it is however, very pretty, and she does put it on regardless. After all she is the kind of girl who appreciates pretty things, especially ones that will go with all of her outfits.

As for the cryptic note and its activation word, well. That's another story. Maybe she'll have Bonnie test it first. For Science.
