XOBD Quarter is a LOT different from Regular Quarter! They do share the same wet dog core but XOBD Quarter has his desire for control + clinginess turned up by the 1000th(tm)! Also is incredibly possessive since it's XOBD haha
Regular Quarter's desire for control is not as strong and he also knows that people are people and he can't control them. His desire for control manifests into other parts of his life, like music he's composing or how his schoolwork or puck shooting technique goes. He focuses that part into being more productive and motivating himself to lock in! Also dude has always been a little clingy but he knows personal space and also enjoys a bit of solitude. XOBD Quarter ONLY has solitude so he is CLINGING and you won't be able to leave those grubby little hands of his /silly
XOBD Quarter isn't the original Quarter Coin. He's more like an ominous fog, a weird creechur that has no real form. Or concept of his own gender. His "truest" form would literally be the dreamscape, in a way, the dude is the dreamscape. The whole place is him. He doesn't exist in any other plane except dreams, which he likes to spy in on people or make a few for any unconscious folks. A good while back, he gained a sense of self and found himself able to visit the regular world? But not really as no one can see him and he can't interact with people, objects or his surrounding. He also can't move far away from Jasper Coin - hence becoming convinced that he must be her dead brother Quarter who died! Totally (he is not lmao) The form he presents himself as is a mixture of Jasper and just tidbits of preferences to shape up his appearance to be "likeable/attractive" based on some of the memories he's peeked into when people are snoozing. He only appears as a guy and goes by He/Him because that's what he knows of the deceased Quarter. Honestly, if you schmooze it up with him, he could shift his form to whatever. Sometimes, he likes to appear as Jasper - which is always cursed since he LOVES to smile and make silly expressions. Also very unhinged murdery expressions. Jasper does netiher, she is :| with the occasionally devious smirk when she gets told to do smt fun
XOBD Quarter would inevitably become obsessed with a person, and try to trap them in an eternal slumber kinda vibe. Bribe Jasper to take care of the body as Quarter tries to force this person to love him back. The obsession and love doesn't even need to be in a romantic sense, Quarter is just so incredibly lonely and wants someone that fits his imagination. He's not super picky as he can just mold them to his imagination. Like this dude is playing the SIMS in the dreams except the dreamer is the sim. Quarter would script out everything to the bone and if there's something he doesn't like about the dreamer/not as he planned, you bet he's changing it and he can. This is a dream after all. Quarter would think he's doing the best thing ever since they no longer need to work or worry about anything!! Just accompany him in his romantisized idealistic world!! Also have no free will or choice!! Not like XOBD Quarter would respect a person's opinion about if they want to leave or not. They wouldn't even be able to vocalize it - he might not even let them think about it. People are basically just interesting dolls to him, something to stave off this existential dread and loneliness - maybe his curiosity too.
The only reason Jasper never became his victim is because she's just too apathetic -- too boring. Yeah he could change her to be better in a dreamscape, but he needs Jasper awake so he can roam around and look at the living world. Not to mention, Jasper's more than happy to do someone's bidding (even if she ignores him every other time.) Quarter also thinks Jasper is his sister and really cool since he's seen Jasper's memories of Quarter and that guy looked up to his sister a lot.
In the tumblrverse, the loser is friends with Estella(Live laugh Estella Bernard)! Which is arguably better and worse for every student at this school. He's less crazy about the extreme loneliness and since he actually respects her, the people in his dreamscape are allowed some free will. Though the two are fanfic buddies and are basically forcing students to be stuck reenacting fanfics of them x another student in this school. fAKFNSA They aren't allowed to wake up either until the entire fanfic is done. The students at SSB are their dolls that the two make kiss and write scenerio fics about. Imagine spending so much time in a dream that when you wake up, you realised the bonds you made weren't real? And those people weren't actually real but just copies and now you gotta cope with being strangers with a person you had so deeply connected to because, they don't know you. None of that was real lol. If he did become obsessed with someone, Quarter would throw all the fanfics aside and just focus on trapping that person to be stuck with him for the rest of time.
