Neel stayed later at Puzzles than he had intended. He wasn’t busy with anything particularly important, yet the hours flew up and the next time he checked his watch it read 4:06 a.m. A sigh rose and fell in his chest. His goodbyes were made to the bartender, who assured Neel the place would be spotless and restocked for tomorrow night. Neel only nodded before he dragged himself to his car, battling the headache probing at his skull.
Once home, he slipped out of his shoes and leaned his cane against a wall, settling into the nearest chair, hoping he doesn’t wake Marco. Yet another night without sleep.
