X-squad at the beach
Scott suggests getting down there early to beat the crowds
Jean informs him that 6am is a little bit TOO early
Alex does not appreciate being woken up at the crack of dawn to drive the group down, but does appreciate the offer to join them
Peter ‘obtains’ a large number of towels, deck chairs and parasols
Warren spends a lot of time sunbathing- he does not want to get in the water and get his wings wet, drying them off is a pain
Jean joins Warren for the majority of the time, covered in suncream, hat and sunglasses and hidden under a parasol- she would probably burn easily
Peter and Kurt have a race along the sand to see if Peter could actually beat a teleporter (but I’m not saying who won..)
It takes a lot of persuading from Jubilee to get Ororo to join the others in the water, but once she’s in there, she’s one of the first to start splashing the others
Alex sits by the water’s edge, staring out into the sea. Scott splashes water at him, breaking this trance. Alex’s response is to pick Scott up and throw him into the water, laughing his head off when his little brother emerges, drenched, and declares war
Kurt manages to bury himself, getting caught away with the feel of the sand and the warmth on his skin
Peter builds a moat around him “for protection”
Speaking of Peter, he most definitely gets sunburnt. Our speedy baby somehow fell asleep on the beach
Warren buys everyone ice-cream, which they all sit down and eat together
Ororo and Jubilee do the cute thing of dabbing their ice-cream on each other’s noses
Scott tries that with Jean and gets a funny look.
They drive back very late, having spent the entire day at the beach
It’s a rush for the showers as everyone is covered in sand.
The pain of sand being everywhere makes the whole group claim they will never go back
They’re back at the beach the following week, and every week after that.
