                   SMACK--

              “Shit--”

         The sound and the curse come one after the other, slurred and frus-     trated, as a clearly-intoxicated blond man crashes into Verin after roun-     ding a sharp corner. The impact seems to take the wind out of him for     just a moment; long enough to waver, blink, and frown. Then--

         “--sorry,” He grumbles at the shape, apparently unwilling to actually     stop to see who or what he’d smacked into, and tries to step around to     continue down the sidewalk.
