Fangs for Seeing Me

Dean saw all types down in Training. From the newest recruits to the upper echelons of SHIELD, though the higher the rank, the rarer their appearance. Rarest of all were members of STRIKE owing to having their own training fields, and the Avengers, who simply weren’t often around unless there was a world ending event or rumors of a super who might be planning to cause trouble. He actually got a little worried every time he even saw a hint of them.

So it would be understandable that his anxiety ratcheted up twenty fold when not only did an Avenger walk into his office, but it was Captain America himself. Anxiety upped still when he saw there was a noticeable change. Red eyes, not like there’d been a blood vessel broken, but properly red eyes. It struck him oddly enough that he paused in his panic to gesture that Rogers take a seat, looking the man over. “Captain... what brings you in to see me of all people?”

I think there’s something wrong with my eyes because I can’t take them off you

Dean is so caught off guard that he just kind of manages a sputter noise and then blushes because he can’t quite believe Steve Rogers of all people is hitting on him.

Text: where are you exactly?

[text] Texarkana, why?

"Hey.. Are you okay?" Steve knocks on his door before peeking in on the fledging.

Dean turns from where he’d been leaning on his bed, shaking himself a little. 

“Yeah... I’m good. A little hungry, but alright otherwise. Why?”

[text] You're brothers here... He saved my life so I owe him this much. Where are you by the way. Worried about you.

[text] On my way, was just up a tree is all.

Rushing forward Steve kneels quickly next to Dean, cupping his cheek as he checks him over. "Dean, hey!"

Dean had been gone three days. Tracking Gordon after there’d been a sighting on Bourbon Street. His fucking luck, Gordon had tracked him first, beat the tar out of him, sassed him and left him for dead with the taste of another vampire’s blood in his mouth.

He’d lost some time, but a familiar hand on his cheek and a voice had him rearing up, fangs dropping with an almost feral growl on his lips, grasping at Steve frantically.

"Do I need to have the talk with you? About why you shouldn't impersonate an FBI agent?"

“Probably wouldn’t hurt? I mean, I didn’t listen the first three times, JJ,” he grinned.

It's been a week since the attack on both of them. Bucky managed to get the tree to safety before either bleed out. Although it's been a week, Steve was up and moving around. Functioning at a least 65%. The wound both ached but nothing more than deep bruising, knocking on Dean's door he calls out, "hey you there, Cher?"

In the week since the attack, Dean was slowly healing, but boy it fucking hurt. When he had first woken up, he’d kind of been amazed he wasn’t a vampire, and still alive. 

Now he was hobbling around, but still mostly bed bound.

“Yeah, where else would I be?” he called back snarkily.

“Come on in, Cap.”
