ooh welcome to another
NEW MINERAL MONDAY
first up we have NEW MU TATE on the top label 3 X L !!
i freakin love it. it's pure mineralism. contains Franks Hublots which i posted a month or two ago. this is the headline for our roundup.
second is a super teamup i did not expect: HOODIE (naemi/exael & shy/special guest DJ) with JAMES K on AD93??? we havent heard from Hoodie in a while, but their style is orbiting downtempo deep bass grooves. james K circles minerals quite a bit (see: Crimeboys) and together they have made a fucking killer dubby trip-hop song. the best parts of portishead with the best parts of cocteau twins.
third is a new teamup: NIMU. on another fave label of mine, ILIAN TAPE, nimu is a duo of, wait for it...MU TATE and Nick Malkin. two mu tates on here today. pure ambient minerals. soft breeze sounds
fourth: do you remember the endeavours:together! comp i kept posting about a while back? i fucking love it. and the new label it came from is called CHARMLINK, ran by Lukas Oppenheimer/Windowseeker/Light2o & Softworld. love both of those artists, and Light2o just released a second song a week ago! it's the most minimalist shiny dancehall track ive ever heard.
fifth is a long awaited EP by a core player of minerals: Ike Zwanniken. ike is very cool to me, considering they're from new zealand as well (berlin now) but heavily entrenched in everything mineral (3XL, INDEX) and does the mastering on almost all of this kind of music that comes out these days. ike has mastered so many of my friends albums & tracks, and does a fucking sick job. So it's incredibly cool to see his Own music actually get the light of day. did i also mention he's in HYSTERICAL LOVE PROJECT, beautiful dream pop duo. anyway: active minerals, IDM glitchy sounds, UK Bass killers.
Sixth and final is something i only really know about from doing deep searches, which is this artist called XTCLVR. very mineral. now sure what their deal is yet but i'm excited for it!
