HUSBAND APPLICATION:
Name: Itachi Age: Always 4 years and 10 months older than you. Do you have a pet name for me?: Yes. Do I have a pet name for you?: Does Smart-Ass count? I’m starting to think it’s actually my middle name. Are you attracted to me?: From the second I saw you. I still can’t believe how perfectly you fit into our weird dynamic. Why do you want to marry me?: Because you would be the perfect wife. But maybe I am biased due to the fact that I love you and would like to be with you forever. Big wedding or Small wedding?: I would say a small wedding, but the Uchiha family doesn’t do modest. If we try to keep it small, my mother will take over and suddenly we will have a wedding fit for royals. Do you see children in our future?: Please.
That cheeky son-of-a--
Her lips twitched. A smile was coming whether she wanted it or not, but Sakura managed to hold out until she finished reading it for the second time. It was ridiculous. Typed, formatted, cover letter included with all the extras, and she couldn’t hold her laughter when she finally flipped to the third page -- a bibliography. Citing their dates, different moments through their relationship that led to this overwhelming love she held for him.
Immediately, she knew how to respond. Looking around, she scoured through the apartment. There had to be a red pen around here somewhere. Not in his desk or hers -- though she did nab the purple one in case nothing else turned up -- and then continued through each room. Finally, sitting in the junk drawer in the kitchen, a little red pen that would be perfect for this application
There wasn’t a single thing not marked. His name underlined with a ‘Full name, please’ scribbled next to it, a ‘Really?’ next to his age. Silly man just had to be technical. She circled his pet name for her, managing to fit in that he should always expand on his answers for maximum points then placed a single check next to her pet name for him.
She paused over the attraction. Oh, she knew how he felt. That Halloween party would forever be remembered, walking--skating up and seeing him. She hadn’t even noticed his costume at first, simply been struck by his appearance. Stupid Uchiha genes.
Skipping over that, his next answer got a heart. The wedding answer was expected though she didn’t mind a large one. A huge party to celebrate marrying the man she had fallen in love with? Sakura couldn’t find it in her to say no. The last point was only met with a ‘2+’ on it, happy to know they both wanted children. It definitely made things smoother.
At the bottom of the page in the open space, she finally added her own response to the overlying question:
Application accepted, final grade pending presentation.
If this man thought the paper got him out of getting on one knee and presenting her with a ring, was he certainly in for a large surprise.
