she sensed she was needed! she trots on over to him, cradling his face in her hands, thumb scanning over his jawline and giggling at the feeling of his beard. "i love you, scruffy."

Now, now. He is terribly offended by that nickname. Scruffy? That was an UNFORGIVABLE injury to his honour.

“I will let you know that I use beard conditioner so that you don’t get all itchy and complaining when you kiss me, Ume. Scruffy… tsk.”

Of course, the tone of his reprimanding is sweetened by how he caresses her hairline with his thumb, and oh that smile that bends his lips, for how long has it been missing?

“I think you do owe me an apology. And something to make it better.”

Ach! Caught off guard, as usual. Mei had a weird way of making him so relaxed around her he stopped paying attention; while he always ran his eyes on all the people in a room at once, to tell apart friends from foes, or just to feel safe, that impulse vanished completely with doctor Zhou. That was why she always managed to sneak kisses to and on him.

“Now, now. Aren’t you taking advantage of my utter impossibility to deny you anything?” she definitely was. And that was why he kissed the crown of her head in response. After all… he had missed her too.

How would Hanzo feel about Mei asking him for accuracy training? She asks him if he could help her sharpen her aim with firing the icicles on her Endothermic Blaster

He would help as much as she requires him to, but he is a stern teacher. No shortcuts, just hard work. And cuddles, when it’s done, BUT! on the training range, he is Hassnzo. “Raise your elbow, tighter grip, help it with your back, eyes on the target, aim down the barrel and THEN shoot, Mei. It’s that simple.”

Bonus note is when Mei tried to pull the string of his bow. Poor creature almost strained her biceps and triceps trying to flex that thing. He doesn’t have those big guns for nothing, dear plumcake. But at least she knows the physics of the bow and she was glad to explain him how, scientifically, archery works. Hanzo listened to her most intently.
