Now this was one way to turn the tide; spending his first day at Hades cabin. Which had been fully restored to its former glory. Corey was so happy for Winter, Everest, and many others who could return back to their own homes. He had learned a great deal while visiting Jay's, which like his own provided much comfort to their souls and personal needs. Perhaps the return would be somewhat nerve wracking after losing a home temporarily, but Cor was certain Winter had a good full nights rest in the safe space.

After climbing the stairs, Corinth welcomed himself to open the door. Just a wedge. He felt comfortable enough with Winter by now to do so. "Hey, it's Corey. Ready for some company?"

"We're nearly there." Corinth promised while wearing his usual carefree smile. Hand reached back to hold Winter's, it was at least obvious that they were headed in the direction of the camp orchard. "It's a few rows back, around the citrus trees."

The orchard setting at night was lively given the many crickets that chirped a song along with frogs that croaked a few yards away by the lake. Fortunately none were massive in size like the bees Corey witnessed a few days ago. The moment they reached the clearing leading to the tangerine fields, a golden glow could be seen moving about. Hundreds, if not thousands of peaceful fireflies humming through the cool spring night air greeted their entry.

He really hoped Winter wasn't afraid of bugs, especially pretty ones that meant no harm. If so, he'd probably lost potential friendship points with the son of Hades.

Corinth slept through the night upon his living room couch. Communal in size, it was the sort you'd want to collapse in after returning from a quest, following a much needed shower at least. It had been at least an hour since he woke and Corey sat up to be close with Winter. Exhausted as they'd arrived, Cor was grateful Winter had the foresight to remain with the healer. The weight of his very alive body shunned any nightmares, or even doubts now that Corey was awake.

He could focus only on Winter, his best friend who he saved. His best friend who nearly downed a dragon and brought their final unconscious comrade back to life. There were still aches at Cor's once shattered ankles, deep cuts made thin bore into his skin, and his muscles weren't willing to support much right now. Still, the latter managed to do their job somewhat. Cor held Winter's wrist and soothed across his dark skin with his gentle hand. "Not to change the subject, but... 'you wanna talk about yesterday?"

For once... Corinth was willing to open himself. Speak honestly. Share something deeper, because what could be deeper than what happened back in Carmel?

He was exhausted. Spending a sleepless night at Athena's cabin. Expending so much power. With friends at his side, but two precious ones knocked unconscious. So terribly injured. At least his race to Atticus in hopes of sharing the burden had kept him from wasting time on the group text chat. That had spiraled in so many directions.

Now late morning, Cor leaned over his kitchen counter with three different ice cream cartons ajar. Scooping teaspoons full of the cooling, sweet substance he intended to share with his beloved guest. Winter. "Did you manage to get any sleep? If you wouldn't mind a nap later... it's on my schedule. 'just worried someone might need me when I finally lay down."

Then, he has a thought. A tired one, so probably stupid. "Maybe you could be my meerkat."
