“Nobody’s batman,” Stiles muttered under his breath as he hauled the book up onto the table in the library and pushed it across toward the younger student. When he was the one in Mason’s shoes, it had been tough, but Mason had taken to it with the same enthusiasm that Stiles had felt in the beginning. Trouble was that it wore off for Stiles, and he suspected that it would for Mason, too.

“It’s the best way that we can help -- by reading, and reading, and reading. It gets boring after a while, but I’m happy to be human. No nocturnal urges and all that.”
