I have Mindelan about a third of an inch down the coast and inland from Frasrlund harbor in LADY KNIGHT. Do you mean Trebond? That's the one I keep screwing up. It's supposed to be close to the border and only a week's ride from the palace, when if you go by the books and the maps it can be one or the other but not both. This is what is known in the publishing industry jargon as "a mistake."

my takeaway: a) possibly the new scanra-tortall border as of page - also featured in lady knight - is the official border with scanra, retconning old border. it just doesn’t make sense to me that in between the events of first test and page the scanran border changed - or even, really, between the immortals and pots because i think it would’ve been clearer if the mindelans’ rise to nobility had been within-the-last-few-years recent. plus, the scanran border keeps that configuration in the beka books. b) i think frasrlund must be where the vassa empties into the emerald ocean. i mean i always sort of placed it there, but this is near-confirmation, no?
