This one is gonna be a bit long. Today was a Monday. It was long and frustrating. I had to make a pit stop to refill my tires on the way home and a gas truck blocked me so I had to fanagle it. Then I get on the highway and the Throwback 30 came on Y2Kountry and it was from 2004...the last year my mom was with us on this earth. Grief is so weird in that for the next hour I felt like my mom was riding shotgun with me singing along to every song that came on the radio because those are the songs we sang to in those last months. I may have cried a little but it was a good cry. Like I missed her but this music, most of it I hadn’t heard in years, brought so much joy to my heart that it overflowed.
