Γεια σου, Θείτσα! Just curious, is there a Greek equivalent of saying “cheers”? Like, what do you say when you’re drinking with friends?
Γεια σου 💙 We use "γεια μας!" (ΥΑ mas) meaning "to our health". The first to initiate the process often says "ade, ya mas!" to urge the others to follow. Ade is the Greek version of Haide that's also used in Slavic and Middle Eastern countries. The others follow with "ya mas!"
As we say that we clunk our glasses and then we drink. It's bad luck to clunk a glass which has water so make sure to at least fill it with soda! (For non adults)
