I promise I’ll be back to reviewing regular perfumes (lately, I have really enjoyed Aesop’s latest release, Gloam) but I thought I might share a little bit of scent culture from Thailand today.

As a Canadian, the heat and humidity in Thailand is like nothing I have ever experienced. One method I used to cope with this intense weather is by acquiring these little herbal inhalers called yadom ยาดม that are sold and used by locals everywhere. They are basically a mix of spices like cloves and cilantro seeds and pomelo skin soaked in menthol, camphor and eucalyptus oil. The cooling hit of this fragrance is supposed to have a healing effect, good for headaches, nausea and so on. I found the combination of icy and hot ingredients help your nasal passages feel clear and clean, cutting through the dense humid air. The sticker on my little inhaler says it was manufactured in July 2018 and it is still going strong today.
