This incest isn't incest because the incest has symbolic connotations
I can't be the only one who has a Thing for demolishing/making it EXTRA dramatic for heterosexual Tropes and Plots Just by making it about queer (lesbians in this case) people instead, right?
Yeah, forbidden love Romeo and Juliet style, but add more drama by making them both women and to be married to other men and then it goes how Romeo and Juliet go! Doomed or not to be doomed! Childhood sweethearts! Whatever other romance tropes I forget at this moment!
However, my personal favorite, and the reason this thought occurred to me... Imagine the Princess Locked Away In A Tour Guarded By An Evil Dragon To Be Saved By A Gallant Knight trope. Now imagine that but that Gallant Knight or Prince what have you Never Arrives. So the Princess takes it into her own hands (witchcraft!) and turns the one who's been with her all this time INTO her Prince. Only to be shocked once she realizes that said dragon was a girl like herself! (Well, physically. In reality they're SUPER nonbinary) andhiwjsbsjs Sorry I just love this idea vewy much (the RGU/ORV sucker within me is crying out)
