Whoever said "Mawaru Penguindrum is about straight people" I'm sending black rose duelists after you. Yes, Mawaru Penguindrum may have one of its major themes as Heterosexuality but LIKE HELL YOU LOOK AT THESE CHARACTERS AND TELL ME THAT THEY ARE "STRAIGHT." Himari became Ringo's Fated Person at the end of the series. Kanba and Shoma became boys passing by their old house, detached from their confined roles as "brothers" when they were clearly (or in my fujoshi addled brain) at least Somewhat attracted to each other and wanted each other more than what their roles deigned them. Oh and don't get me STARTED on Yuri and Tabuki. Yuri my beloved queen, is NOT FUCKING WITH STINKY TABUKI. Now Tabuki might be straight (because I don't like him /hj), but he and Yuri? Pshh, they're only married out of obligation and loneliness from being left alone by Momoka. There is not a SINGLE scrap of Romantic Tension in there. Oh and Masako? Did you not see her flirting with her Brother's exes? Yeah. "Straight People." Akio Ohtori why.

This is an Ikuhara show, people. Even the heterosexual couples get separated at the end if they genuinely like each other (which most of them DONT)

Thought up an interpretation while writing this: Makes you wonder if Kanba and Shoma WEREN'T brothers, would they have ended up like Touga and Saionji?
