❝  unfortunately, many people do.  ❞  ella’s gaze doesn’t move from her lap, fingers nervously tangling in the sleeves of her sweater. the narrow minded are always the first to assume based off of a certain characteristic that a person must act a certain way. they don’t see the anger, the indifference, and the pain that often lies just beneath the surface of it all. many have believed that ella is nothing but a door mat to be stepped on, wiping their shoes as they step across the threshold. they see her empathetic and forgiving nature and assume she is one to prey upon, to take advantage of.

but they rarely see the golden fire that burns inside of her. the raging water of blue eyes that signals the very resistance that she has been fighting for her entire life.

                      ❛  aren’t  they  all  dead  though?  ❜  the lights have burned out long before they reach the moon; you’re alone in the universe. at least, that’s what ruby had been told and with no one to correct it she let it fester as truth. sitting out here feels strange, while a feeling of being watched and everette go hand in unlovable hand: she doesn’t have that paranoia creeping in. not safe, but not under any duress. it’s odd. odder than she’d like it to be.  ❛  i  mean,  they  are,  right?  ❜
