Okay so, I'm aware I'm posting at 4 in the morning after deeply thinking about my current personal life BUT a thought hit me that I would like to explain

Visual representation below:

HEAR ME OUT!!

What I mean by this is that Cuphead as a character is very malleable.

He could be a greedy yet heroic kid who defeats the devil with his brother to save everyone's souls from him. You blink and now he's some kid living in the forest with his brother going on episodic adventures with this cool ghost chalice; yes he's enemies with the devil, but the only soul at stake is his. THEN he turns into a grown ass man announcing the development of games under his name and in that SAME announcement, a wacky 80's version of him cartoonishly pops out of a game cartridge yelling the company that created his game. But then he's a young adult alongside his brother, going back to ask for a job at the place where he beat the shit out of his future bosses (the devil and king dice). Oh NOW he's in his late 20's with his twin brother stuck with a wolf, demon, shell, and rock-dog in order to find a map to cure a curse/disease that's the toon equivalent of cancer.

All of the above is to emphasize Cuphead could be ANYTHING. Just like Miku! As long as you keep certain visuals, personality traits, and relationships, Cuphead is yours to innact all your wild story ideas. Just like Miku!

(Also yes I am aware it's also because rubber hose characters back in the day had inconsistencies for the sake of the animators not limiting themselves to do whatever creatively, I thought the Miku analogy was funny. Also I like Vocaloid and Cuphead)
