How about some angst 💕... I thought I was going to be murdered my entire childhood, with Bel/Takeshi?

Yamamoto’s eyes crack open when the bed dips on the other side and the warmth of his boyfriend’s body leaves him cold. Slowly, he raises up on the bed and rubs his eyes. On the other side of their shared bed, Bel is sitting on the edge, leaning his forehead against his hands. His shoulders seem stiff as if the whole world was weighing down on him. 

‘’Bel? Everything okay?’’ His voice comes out raspy from the sleep and Bel jumps slightly at the sudden sound.  As Yamamoto reaches towards him, Bel gives him a stiff smile over his shoulder.

‘’Yeah, go back to sleep.’’

Liar, Yamamoto thinks and slides over to Bel’s side of the bed, sitting down next to him. He knew what the man was doing and Yamamoto wasn’t going to let him distance himself from Yamamoto and avoid a conversation. 

‘’Not a chance,’’ Yamamoto says gently, nudging the prince with his shoulder, ‘’Now tell me what’s bothering you.’’

Bel stays quiet for a while, staring at the floor as if he would find answers from the ground. Yamamoto waits patiently, giving  Bel all the time and space he needs. He knows better than to pressure the prince to talk. Though Bel had gotten better at opening up about his feelings and struggles, they still had a long way to go. Lucky for him, Yamamoto was insistent and didn’t give up on the process. 

‘’The prince has a hard time sleeping in foreign places,’’ Bel admits just as Yamamoto thought he wouldn’t talk. 

Now, this was not what he had expected.

‘’Oh,’’ Yamamoto says dumbly, mentally slapping himself for such a dry answer. ‘’Why is that?’’ 

Yamamoto doesn’t miss the way Bel chews down on his lower lip, weighing on his options. If Bel didn’t want to answer, Yamamoto wouldn’t press him. But something tells him Bel would speak up if he was patient enough. 

‘’I thought I was going to be murdered my entire childhood,’’ Bel finally says, his face painted in discomfort. He tries to seem nonchalant but Yamamoto can tell that it pains him to say that. ‘’So when I’m in an unfamiliar place, I stay alert. Just in case.’’

‘’That’s horrible,’’ Yamamoto replies. What else could he say? His childhood, despite lacking a mother, was safe and loving nevertheless. He couldn’t imagine what it must’ve been like for fear to have such a heavy presence in a child’s life. 

‘’It has always been like that in royal families,’’ Bel explains with a bitter smile, ‘’while other kids would learn how to ride a bike, we would be taught self-defense.‘’

Unsure what to say, Yamamoto reaches to squeeze Bel’s hand softly, to tell him that he is there for him. He doesn’t know how to comfort him but he listens. Bel looks at their hands and laces their fingers. 

‘’I suppose not only bad things came out of it’’ Bel says after a few seconds. Yamamoto wonders if his cheeks are tinted pink - he can’t tell in the darkness. ‘’I did end up joining Varia because of it and without joining Varia…’’

Bel’s lips brush against Yamamoto’s before pressing a chaste kiss on his lips.  

‘’Without Varia, I wouldn’t have met you.’’ Bel’s breath tickles against his lips. Yamamoto can practically feel his lips tease against his own as he speaks - that’s how close he is. 

Yamamoto manages to find his voice. 

‘’That would’ve been a pity.’’ 

‘’The prince agrees,’’ Bel mumbles before capturing his lips again until Yamamoto’s brain turns into a puddle of incoherent thoughts.

💙: who is more protective?

Neither of them is that protective, to be honest, since both are strong and capable to look out for themselves. However, they will stand up for their partner and of course go for aid if they judge it’s necessary. Out of the two, Yamamoto probably frets and worries more about Bel and his wellbeing but Bel has his moments too.

💚: who tends to get sick more often? who is better at taking care of the other?

Yamamoto gets sick more often. Bel claims that princes don’t get sick and Yamamoto isn’t sure what part is Bel just having a really good immune system and what part is him being good at hiding when he is sick - because that is something Bel does just so he won’t appear weak to Yamamoto. When Yamamoto is sick, Bel makes sure that he has everything he wants or needs at all times and that he most of all feels comfortable and rested. He might not do all that domestic stuff and prepare him soup himself but he will look after his boyfriend and make sure he doesn’t get back to work until he is completely fine. Yamamoto is a naturally good at taking care of people because of his kind nature, but Bel rarely lets him see that side of himself as he is afraid Yamamoto will think of his as weak - which, of course, is a dumb assumption.

Yamamoto was definitely the first one to say it as he is overall more open about his feelings and knows how to put his feelings into words. Love, to Bel, is something he never really considers to be a part of his life as he has spent the majority of his life unloved. This is why when Yamamoto does utter those words to him, Bel is absolutely speechless because holy shit his boyfriend told him he loves him. It also might take Bel much longer time to actually say those words out loud to Yamamoto even when the feeling is there and he wants to tell him because he is afraid of losing that love or losing Yamamoto. Good thing Yamamoto is patient and understands how his partner feels so Bel never feels pressured to say it or guilty for not saying it out loud immediately.

They are both fairly affectionate with each other (especially TYL), though for Yamamoto it comes much easier than for Bel. Out of the two Yamamoto initiates physical contact more in public whereas Bel does so when it’s just the two of them and no prying eyes to spy on them. Being physically affectionate is something Bel learns from Yamamoto as he expresses his love through actions a lot. And to Bel, too, actions come easier than words when it comes to love.

A prince was supposed to receive gifts, not be the one giving them to peasants. At least that was what Bel had believed the entirety of his seventeen years on earth - but that was before Takeshi came along. Ever since the two of them had started dating, Bel realized his world had turned upside down because of Takeshi. Bel even got him a gift, just because. It wasn’t something that he, prince Belphegor, did to anyone.

The young royalty headed towards the Yamamoto household with a gift bag in his hands, inside it laid neatly wrapped a sky blue, white sleeved sports jacket from Paris that immediately screamed Takeshi’s name when Bel landed his eyes on it. 

Before ringing the bell, he wiped his clammy hands on his jeans, suddenly self-conscious about the present. What if Takeshi didn’t like it? Or worse - what if he would think lowly of such behavior, giving gifts without a special occasion?

Just as the door opened, revealing Takeshi who beamed at the sight of his boyfriend, Bel moved the gift bag behind his back.

‘’What do you have behind your back?’’ Takeshi asked, trying to peek behind the prince curiously.

‘’Nothing.’’

‘’Doesn’t seem like nothing.’’

Bel huffed, shoving the gift bag to Takeshi’s chest and crossed his arms like a child throwing a small tantrum. His cheeks flared and he hoped Takeshi was unable to notice it.

Takeshi glanced at the gift bag and then back to Bel, eyes wide and curious. ‘’Is it for me?’’ 

‘’Who else would it be for?’’

Takeshi wasted no time ripping open the bag and pulling out the jacket. He held it up in front of him and Bel bit his lip in anticipation.

‘’This is amazing!’’ Takeshi beamed, pulling Bel into a tight embrace. ‘’Thank you. I will never take it off.’’

‘’That’s disgusting,’’ Bel mumbled, the redness of his cheeks getting stronger by every passing second, ‘’you have to wash it sometimes.’’
