I feel like Tae's arc if her past is addressed could kinda be compared to physical or mental rehabilitation after an accident. Will you ever be the same? No. Does that matter? No. The important point is you try be functional in the ways that matter, not by the arbitrary standards of society.

I know a lot of people treat on here as a stand in for autism rep, but its not the only form of neurodiversity.  The experiences of acquired neurodiversity is just as valid as born with it. And undeath is a sort of rebirth anyway.

I get the feeling some people are going to be angry when the manga spinoff about how Tae was in life becomes more easily available in English.

Like feel its “taking away positive neurodivergence rep” by not having her be mostly the same in life.

But... as someone on the spectrum and who had a Grandfather I really admired who was nonverbal after a stroke long before I was born, I can’t see it that way.

I wish I could be more eloquent, but that’s all I have.
