summary: something’s wrong. Yancy knew it, and knew who did it too.
You visited Yancy every third Sunday, 6 pm sharp with a cake or a pie, sometimes cookies. Yancy loved receiving those lovely pastries, but he adored talking to you. You were so passionate about life, your funky personality gave him never-ending smiles when you were around. Yancy was so used to asking you, “How youse doin’, Princess?” He was so used to your reddening cheeks as he would flirt with you for the two hours you guys had. He was so used to pressing his hand against the glass where yours was.
He was used to you.
He remembered those couple of weeks you were in Happy Trails, the times that you two flirted to high heaven and never left each other’s side. He was so in love with you, everything about you. He couldn’t name anything about you that he didn’t like. He remembered that first kiss in the laundry room, the split second that you grabbed his collar and kissed him hard. It lasted for two seconds but it was like forever to Yancy. That was the moment he knew he was in love with you.
He was so used to you.
The first time you didn’t visit him on visitation day, Yancy knew something was wrong. The second time came and went, the third, fourth, fifth, sixth...
It’s been seven months since he’s seen you, and he just had this feeling that you were in trouble.
After the seventh visitation day without you, Yancy devised a plan to find you.
He knew only one person who would take you from him.
That was Dark.
Unlike the other egos that Yancy knew before he was thrown in jail, Dark and Yancy had an...extensive past. From assassination to dealing with cartels, Dark and Yancy were dirty partners in crime. When one needed something, the other helped. They made thousands of dollars running in the Black Market, they were great friends and even better business partners.
That was until Amy.
Amy was...well, Amy. She came into their lives with a beautiful smile and a love in her eyes that neither of them have ever seen before. At first, she was with Dark. She was happy and content, but Yancy was beginning to pull her away to him. After a drawn out period of deterioration of their friendship, they finally asked Amy to pick. And she picked Yancy. Long story short, Dark was furious... and he did something unforgivable and made Yancy believe that he did it. Dark made him believe that he killed his parents. Of course Yancy knew he did kind of kill them, seeing that if he didn’t fall in love with Amy, they would still be alive and he would still be free. She visited every Sunday for a while, then she stopped. He knew why she stopped.
He thought that you would be safe from Dark, seeing that you had no connection to him. But he was so damn wrong.
Yancy was lucky he remembered the layout of Darkiplier Manor, and he was lucky he knew that Dark wouldn’t expect him to escape prison for someone he barely knew.
Yancy was armed with a switchblade and manipulation. The only way to beat a manipulator was to manipulate them. He knew it wasn’t the best tactic, but it was something. He had to save you, he just had to.
He stepped into a long hallway, one draped with paintings, candelabras, and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The intricate oak walls made him feel even more on edge as his grip on his switchblade tightened. He kept to the sides of the hallway, keeping aware of the change in atmosphere, sounds, and voices.
He was in the hallway for less than two minutes when he saw a door open on the right, and he placed himself flat against the wall to try and disguise himself.
He heard heels before he heard a soft, “Dark? Is that you?”
Yancy’s heart dropped, and before he knew what he was doing, he stepped into the light.
Your back was to him, and he admired that beautiful red dress that dipped into the middle of your back. It was lace, a beautiful deep red that fit you surprisingly well. He remembered you in stripes and sweaters.
“Y-Y/N?”
You turned around, and Yancy melted. Your hair was down and curled, your lips were bright red from your lipstick. The dress was strapless, and it stemmed from the choker on your neck. Tule connected the dress to the choker, and covered the bottom of the ballroom dress. You looked like Cinderella dipped in red.
“Yancy?” You softly whispered, and you two raced towards each other. He caught you in his arms and a kiss landed on your lips as tears streamed down your cheeks. You were so grateful to see him, your heart was beating so fast and hard that you thought it would explode. Yancy’s hands grabbed yours as he pulled away.
“We have to goes, Princess.” Yancy spoke lowly, and you nodded.
“What about Dark?”
“He’s fucked me over one too many times whens he took yous. He can deals with this.”
A smile tugged at your lips. You missed him.
He let go of one of your hands and he began to lead you back towards where he snuck in, smiles on both of your faces.
He was stealing Cinderella right under neath Prince Charming’s nose.
