realistically speaking i think its more likely that he began as a low ranking court official or scholar, then rose up the ranks with a combination of actually decent work and lots of blackmail slash bribes slash sabotage. poison tasters dont really have that kind of upwards momentum in ranking, even if theyre probably paid a ton of hazard pay. but i think if you wanted to you could absolutely imagine a start as a poison tester
maybe he started off like that on purpose or something? applied for the position under a false identity and stayed for long enough that he could gather information on the layout of the place before faking a poisoning and getting out of there, and then using his knowledge to sneak like an application of his for a more prestigious position onto some important figure's desk.
or maybe he started out poison tasting as a younger and poorer man just seeking a job, and actually did get poisoned and have to resign because of it. and then his dough absorbed the poisons and gave him better capabilities of controlling it, and allowed him to use more of that kind of magic? and once hes recovered he applies for a more scholarly position, is accepted maybe out of pity for his past work, and then starts scheming his way up?
its unlikely but fun speculation either way! if he ever did get a start as a poison taster though, i think affogato would go to very great lengths to hide it. its a blemish on the pristine high society type look he wants to make for himself, after all. if you ever want to make something with the idea, @ me in it!! id love to see what u do
There are so so so many good cookies locked between less popular games, out of service games or being old epics in ovenbreak that get zero attention. I think Crumble would be a great way to reintroduce some characters or let them out of their games

Sachertorte Cookie, a Witch's Castle exclusive at time of writing. She's just such a little shit!!! She used to have quite the high reputation before misplaced trust in the noble house she worked for resulted in her losing it all (She was a treasure keeper, the son broke a vase and promised he would tell his parents, he didn't, she was blamed, lost everything and was thrown out) however she gained something more then nobility when she met her new family, the Apricot Jam Syndicate! Now the leader of an infamous group of thieves she ruined the family who tried to ruin her in turn and there's no great treasure nailed down hard enough for her to not steal!
I think she should be in crumble because I love her she was my favorite story in Witch's Castle, but also I think she'd have a fun dynamic with the main trio where she hates them a lot because they're uncouth and she's a snob. Could make a fun minor antagonist or event antagonist where she steals all of Yogurt's funds and Yogurt is like "we need to kill her we need to kill her we need to kill her" Plus she fights with her parasol which could make for interesting abilities. Honestly I think she'd also do well in TOA as an antagonist but shhh
Cinnamon Cookie, a classic character from Ovenbreak! Despite his role in the main story of ovenbreak and connection to Wizard Cookie we never really see much of him! Cinnamon Cookie would be a perfect fit for the Crumble cast since we're seeing characters like Skater Cookie make a return. His magic theme would be a great fit for the gameplay and I would just love to see him have some interactions with the old gang again. I don't have much to say beyond that but he'd at least make for some good interactions in the cookie chat even if they don't make him playable.
White Choco Cookie, another classic from Ovenbreak as we haven't seen much of the other chocos in awhile! Being a rival to both Cream Soda and Knight Cookie she would make an excellent fit into the cast for a bit of snark and dapper poise. I could really see a whole event around like, going to a dueling competition for money and having to beat White Choco Cookie or something. Also let her flirt with Princess, she deserves it Princess literally has a heart in her relationship chart for her. Lesbian Icon.
Banana Choco Cookie, speaking of Choco cookies, Banana Choco Cookie is just an underrated fav of mine I used her a lot back when I played puzzleworld. She's cute and energetic and please! She could have a cool attack with her monkey!
Beet Cookie, okay I'm not getting this one but like.... what... what if??? Please??? My girl??? PLEASE???? She'd be such a good fit and she's so fun and she'd have such silly interactions and I want to see her shoot Dark Cherry Cookie and it be a whole thing
Firecracker Cookie, okay look me in the eye and tell me a firework themed aoe attacker doesn't sound awesome. It would be awesome. Could you imagine the interaction with Cherry Cookie? They're rivals according to the relationship chart. She's cool, bring DJ Cookie while you're at it I just have less to say about DJ Cookie.
Raspberry Mousse Cookie and Rose Cookie, It has been far too long since we've had one of the best canon m/f ships in the spotlight and I had to bunch them together as they would want. These two are adorable and such a chaotic game would be perfect for Rose Cookie's tango and Raspberry Mousse's sword. They could have such a good synergy and I know people have been clamoring for Raspberry Mousse Cookie to make another appearance.
Piñata Cookie, a Puzzleworld only cookie who is just, so cute! Look at her! She's only had npc appearances in other games but I could 100% see her riding around the screen mowing over enemies. I really would love if they use this game to reintroduce some characters like her back to the series.
Earl Grey Cookie, I don't even have anything clever to say, I just think it would be really funny if they imply that the reason he wasn't in Kingdoms was because he was too busy with the nonsense in Crumble. They wouldn't but it would be really funny.
Cookiemals, One of the cutest character(s) in ovenbreak! They are pawsitively adorable!! However they are not very relevant at all so it would be nice to see them get up to a new adventure, please Devsisters, you want to add them into Crumble and make them so so cute so you can sell merch of them, oooo you wanna do it so baaad. Plus they have a lot of implications of having a deeper importance and power, perfect to flesh out a bit in Crumble!
Energy Drink Cookie, who has been lost due to Cookie War going defunct. It would be super easy to just port over his moveset and abilities from Cookie War and add him in. He's got a sick design too, a poison aoe attacker would work well with a lot of the other damage over time attacking units. Plus the fact he's got amnesia in Cookie War means you could totally just tweak the backstory into a more regular war or something.
Affogato Cookie, I am so fucking biased but personally I think every Cookie Run game would be improved by him randomly showing up to be an evil advisor. Let him manipulate the fuck out of King Choco Drop, I wanna see him try and take over the kingdom and he's like "and I will forgive your debts if you let me" to the trio and they're about to walk away before King Choco Drop is like "I'LL REVERSE THE DEBT I'LL OWE YOU" and then the come back and kick Affogato's ass. It'd be so funny.
Nutmeg Tiger Cookie, Look, if Black Sapphire and Candy Apple can be Witch's Castle, Nutmeg Tiger can be in Crumble. She's a perfect fit! Crumble is literally in the name! A hardened war general to be like "tch, pathetic" to the main cast would go so hard! I could see her being an antagonist but then she fights and loses to Oven Wanderer so she pledges himself to his side "until the true strongest destroyer" returns and she joins the heroes but she's still 100% being morally dubious as hell at all times and it's only Oven Wanderer going "no nutmeg we aren't doing a subjugation in this village" keeping her in line. Wait this is just Tempest Shadow from MLP coded, I think I just want Tempest Shadow
