The maid so adorably murmured but you heard it. You jumped down from the flustered medic to give some love to the cute maid with cat features. And unlike your last victim who avidly denied that his tail was wagging when Brie teased him, the maid purrs and leans into your hands. So invested in the delight of your maid you miss the rotting aura of your very disgruntled dragon hybrid. Brie noticed and figured this bonding would have to wait until later.
"Your highness, there is still someone you have to see." Brie turns and starts walking down a hallway that opens to the training grounds as she expects you wave good by with a "nice to meet you!" You run to catch up to her as she led the gaggle of nameless handmaids to the training grounds where you can barely see a purple and white blur wisping around the dirt pit. To say you were too slow was an understatement, the speed at which this mystery person was moving around beat any animal you've seen. Brie couldn't help but be amused by your astonishment in watching the general.
"GENERAL MINK!" She yelled and the blur stopped immediately. The blur revealed itself to be a man with purple skin and darker purple hair. He was wearing a wight suit donned with medals and ribbons. His sclera was black and he wore a fanged smirk as he strut over to your group.
"You must be the (empress/emperor)," he bowed deeply but for some reason it felt mocking.
When he stood straight again Brie put her arm in front of you guiding you behind her from the general who looked peeved but still had his smirk on his face. "Your highness, if I may," her formality unnerved you, "I suggest you practice caution with this one. He's on contract."
"Contract?"
"Yes his species have the ability to make contracts in exchange for something."
"Oh?" You turned to the general in question who full-on smile upon receiving your attention. "What are you're demands and who do you have a contract with?"
He chuckled, "Nothing I can't get on my own and it's with the former empress."
"Who's the former empress?"
He looked deeply into your eyes as if he knew you for years, "nobody worth your time."
You were about to question him more but Brie spoke, "He's much older than you think. He's been around for nearly two centuries."
Your jaw drops as you gawk at him and he poses basking in your attention.
Grrrrr
The sudden growling was getting louder with every second meaning a certain dragon hybrid needed to be appeased. "By the way what is his name?" You pointed at the unhappy dragon-hybrid who perked at your your curious gaze. He opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by Mink. "Your grace, he has many names to list a few: Butweiss' Destroyer, Torturous Tumar, Gigantic Pain in Amass-"
"Killer of the Snowy Bells" Brie chimed in,
The General went through a list of crazy names that held no significance to you but the downcast look in Brie's face might have suggested they were cities or something like that.
You bet the dragon hybrid was red in the face, thanks to his skin tone the only thing that recognizable of his embarrassment was his mannerisms. You decided for the hissy fit he's been putting up this is well deserved.
"Rumor has it that his parents named him Arahi da sol."
"Isn't that a girl's name?"
"That means queen of the sun in ancient texts."
"Must've been expecting a girl then weren't they?"
"Gee how much have you gotta hate your kid to do that?"
Okay that was enough. "There is nothing wrong with the name Arahi." You said in your best (g/v). The gossiping handmaidens stopped their chatter and bowed in apology. Brie was proud, Minks was impressed, and Arahi fell in love a little more.
"Lucky for you my highness, you will not meet the court today, we'll have at least have a day to fix your garbage outfit before then." Mumbling the last part she expected you to ask another question instead you had begun fidgeting on the bed probably not paying any attention to her.
"What is it now?"
"Uhm I'm just not used to sleeping somewhere without (f/t)..." You looked so lost, a far cry from your intriguing persona. She couldn't help the part of her heart that called for her to comfort. Only this one time. She settled next to your curled form, breaking your ball by intertwining her arm in between yours, laying you down. Still hugging you she was relieved to hear sniffles and to feel he salty wet drops on her arms. You didn't react at all when this all began, no body should bottle everything up all the time. Crying was alright and she was happy you were willing to do it around her.
