it is sewn into his bones, veins bleeding with all the wrong that he has done; from the moment he wakes up, with sora’s blood on his hands, GUILT is what feeds the voice inside of him that torments him with a constant “look at all the wrong that you have done”.

it’s what drives him to dawn their uniform, the exist among the ranks of the organization that threatens the worlds he loves ( the worlds HE once destroyed ), what drives him, despite himself, to STRIKE DOWN sora’s OTHERS ( how much more blood, riku? how many more lives will you DESTROY for your own selfishness? ), to tear away the lives they made ( imaginary as they were ) in favor of ensuring the person who meant the most to him LIVED. to return HOME with him in tow, and protect what matters most to him

so why does it still hurt so bad? he’s made his AMENDS, protected the people he was born to protect, so why can’t he look them in the eye? why can’t he find in them the comforts he found as a child? why is it, when he closes his eyes, he sees sora and kairi on the other end of his blade, BEGGING for him to stop? why is it that he still sees the faces of NOBODIES in his sleep. why does he still feel the pull of DARKNESS so deep at the center of his heart, that with every drop of guilt that coats him in its suffocation, he loses himself that much more to HIM.

and he wears it with a feigned SMILE; the guilt that grows so deep in his chest, choking air from his lungs and crushing him from the inside out. it’s THICKLY veiled, that he can’t so much as look his best friends in the eye without seeing the FEAR stricken in their faces, the way they looked at him as he raised his blade to them. no amount of we don’t blame you will ever erase the simple fact: for everything that has happened since the moment he meant ansem, he’s going to blame himself.

Isa wasn't exactly trying to hide the fact that he was, but he wasn't completely ready to face anyone yet. Not really. Hell, he'd been anxious about seeing Lea again after all he'd done, even if it was at the same time perhaps what he'd longed for most.

He'd come out of his room for once. Usually the Diviner tended to spend most of his time there when not on missions, but today he'd found that he simply couldn't settle. At first he'd thought no one had been around as it seemed relatively quiet, so he'd gone off to the training area. He'd tensed upon noting he wasn't alone, but Riku was there as well.
