hi can we talk about how the re1 remake is one of the scariest (if not, the scariest) game in the entire resident evil franchise please??

in games like re4 and re5 that are more action based, you're constantly fighting enemies, and because of that it's not scary or surprising when they show up after playing for a bit because you expect them to be there.

BUT, in the re1 remake, enemies are few and far between. this adds so much tension to the game. having no clue where the next enemy will be is FAR scarier than fighting off a bunch of them (in my opinion of course).

& it's even worse because they literally come back STRONGER if you don't burn them!

plus, needing an ink ribbon to save puts so much stress on the player. (something that capcom definitely needs to bring back at some point, btw.)

and to top it all off, this game has some of the most visually appealing (and unsettling) scenery!

this game is easily top 3. argue with the wall.
