there's proof of thanos torturing loki in canon? :0 genuine question because i've seen a lot of different answers for this
well, “proof” i guess is not like a clear verbal confirmation but rather pretty straightforward signs.
ive seen a bunch of posts about it but the most prominent “proof” id say is when The Other tells Loki “u think u know pain? he will make u long for something as sweet as pain”, & Loki is terrified. also Thanos pretty much defaults to torture when he wants to get his way [literallt tortures Nebula & also kills Gamora just to get what he wants]. Ebony Maw also tortures Dr. Strange for the time stone, so it aint even just the titan himself doing it but his associates too.
why would Loki be any different? Thanos is determined & will stop at nothing. plus in IW Loki seems to be absolutely terrified of him & hands over the Tesseract after Thanos literally tortures Thor in front of him. the way Loki is scared… he seems to know what the titan is capable of.
anyways im a believer that his attempt to “kill Thanos” at the end was more of an attempt to get himself killed cuz he knew what wouldve happened if Thanos kept him alive [basically GHTHH haha]. why else would he attack someone twice his size with TWO infinity stones, especially someone he personally was forced to work for previously, with a DAGGER? i mean, Loki aint stupid, he had to know his odds… & the way he looks at Thor right b4, when he says “Odinson”… yeah.
i also have Thoughts about that speech he said in Stuttgart, making ppl kneel. a lot of the things he said sound a lot like something he would be told during torture. [“freedom is life’s great lie”, “the bright lure of freedom diminishes your life’s joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity”, “you were made to be ruled”, “in the end you will kneel”]
Loki was clearly under the influence of the mind stone there [eye color was clearly bright blue & not green like usual], but repeating and basically internalizing things your abuser/torturer told you is a common coping mechanism. obv this is not, nor can it be proven, but its my interpretation. Loki is not someone who doesnt value freedom if u think about it…
& dont get me started on how he looks in the beginning of Avengers, that aint the same Loki we saw b4.
