Although I've been studying German for half of my life, I still don't know the important stuff (am I frustrated? Yes)

So, I need the gentle help of my beloved german-speaking mutuals:

How do grandmothers call their beloved ones? Or, how would you address to a little boy? Lovely nicknames, whatever comes to your mind :D

No, I'm not a grandmother wannabe, I just have to write a chapter for my current story, and I have no clue how to call the said little boy :D

I've been called "nani" for years, but it's hard to translate it to English, and it won't fit the story, sadly.
