I bought the Gospel of Aradia oracle deck just before the covid crisis locked down my country in earnest. I haven’t had the energy or mental presence to try and get to know it since then, or to do much of anything except keep myself alive since then, so it’s been kinda gathering dust on the shelf since then. I’ve been feeling a bit guilty about that and not doing as much as I feel I should or normally could. But yesterday I decided to at least look a bit at it, especially as I intend to crochet a bag for it and I want a feel for what pattern and colors I should use.
So I did what I always do when trying to get acquainted with a new deck, pulled it out of the pack, casually studied the cards and made sure to separate all of them before shuffling them for a while and then pulling a card out. I never expect anything deep and profound or even accurate at this phase, it’s more a ‘hi, how do you do?’ thing than any attempt at a reading or gaining knowledge from the deck but this time around the result surprised me.
The card I pulled? La Luna, the moon. Meaning, everything including power and energy waxes and wanes, that is the way of nature. So if you’re feeling drained or low due to outside events that’s the way of the world, stop beating yourself up over something that isn’t your fault.
Now that made me smile and go *snerk* before pushing the card back in the deck and do the shuffle/cut/shuffle thing a few more times and pulling another.
Guess which card I got. If you guessed La Luna you’d be right. Like it was trying to say, “listen I told you once, are you hard of hearing or something?”
Looks like I got myself a deck that isn’t just talkative and that I mesh with but that is also really snarky.
