Steven was quite enjoying this little after work chat. It was not oft that he got to have a two-way conversation. Not that there was anything inherently wrong with one-sided ones, but it usually ended up with him going in circles like a puppy chasing its tail. This was refreshing.
A hush had fallen between the two when the other finally broke the silence. Steven was in the middle of taking a bite of his pita pocket.
“Ahh...” He swallowed the mouthful. “I have a couch.” Much more quietly he added “Somewhere...” His apartment was... a scene, in the very least.
“Ooh. A whole couch?” Lip’s tone is teasing, but only lightly. The gift shop guy- Steven, that’s his name- has been having a rough enough time already, they can tell. They nibble at their falafel. It’s good. They’ll have to remember this diner for later.
“I have a couch too,” they confess, leaning in a little closer over the laminated table. “So the question, I guess, is your place or mine?”
