"Love Is In the Air" is a special song because it is the result of a unique collaboration between artists of very different countries, cultures and music styles, who decided to create something positive and unifying. Sri Lankan Hip Hop sensation and TV host Yashan, who is known for his good deeds and volunteering work for those in need, came up with the idea of creating a peace song to spread love and peace across Sri Lanka and other nations. Seeing that he was looking for composers to work with on this project, Canadian music producer Lady Monarkey, who owns studio & record label MusiqMatch, and who is also engaged in the cause of promoting diversity in music, jumped on the opportunity of working with Yashan, whose talent and initiatives inspired her. She wanted to create something new, multicultural, and appealing for his fans who were eagerly waiting for his come back. She came up with music and melody propositions for Yashan, who then wrote the lyrics, in Sinhala for the chorus, and in English for the rap part. Then Kenya De Silva joined in as a performer. Lady Monarkey describes Kenya as a “rising star with a pure and soulful exquisite voice.” She says that “working with both artists was incredibly enriching because they both have so much talent, openness and are deeply invested in what they do.”

The music we are creating is...
Like Michael Jackson's "We Are The World" peace song, this single is meant to spread positive vibes across nations, no matter who or where you are. Although stars Yashan and Kenya are very much involved with the Church's work when it comes to helping the poor or the sick, which is something that the Canadian producer isn't used to seeing in her local community, she tells us the song is also a demonstration of how different communities can get together and overlook differences to fight ignorance, racism, poverty and illness. Sri Lanka is known to have four main religions in its Island which co-exist in harmony. When we watch the music video, we see Yashan and Kenya reaching out to the people and going to places. The music video was shot in several regions: Negombo, Moratuwa, Bambalapitiya, Colombo Fort and Panadura. It goes out to show that gauging our cultural diversity from a positive perspective is always better than feeding negative views. "It is admirable," says Monarkey, who appreciates all kinds of spiritual or non-spiritual views and ways of living, just as long as they do not interfere with other communities' happiness. "We just have to keep an open mind and make sure we only spread love, not harm. That is what music does anyways."

For Yashan & Kenya, music should unite and cheer its audience. It should aim towards serving a noble purpose and carry a positive message.
For Monarkey, music is probably the most essential art there is. Even movies would not be what they are without it. Music should be universal. It should not have cultural boundaries, and that is why her record label MusiqMatch offers such diverse content, not necessarily following commercial guidelines or movements, but following its own gut. If it sounds good, no matter the music type or language, then it's good and should be out there for everyone to hear it.

Yashan is focusing on his career as a Hip Hop artist and is also hosting the TV show "Music Factory" with co-star Kavindya Adikari ("Kavi Adikarion") on Swarnavahini TV. With this song as her debut single, which is already performing well on social media, Kenya De Silva is the discovery of the year and can look forward to a brilliant career in music. Lady Monarkey is always scouting for new talents to sign with her label MusiqMatch, but also intends on focusing on promoting her current talents from across the globe. She's also working on composing music soundtrack for film and ad commercial projects, and independent singers who are working with her on their upcoming albums.
