I’ve been intermittently working on a fic where Aniq is an OSHA inspector and Yasper puts in a bogus complaint to try to get his boss who he hates (Brett or Xavier, I can’t decide which) fired. And it’s fun to write about Yasper and Aniq meeting each other as adults. But at the same time it feels so fundamentally wrong to create a universe in which they aren’t childhood best friends… The emotional stakes of any conflict cannot possibly compare. Yasper lying to Aniq hits very different when Yasper is “some guy who was extremely charming yet obviously shady from the get-go” instead of “my oldest, closest friend, whose betrayal makes me question fundamental truths about my life”

I've been trying to find a good still of Yasper with a genuine smile and i did not expect it to be this difficult??? Yasper is grinning ear to ear in SO MANY of his scenes, but they're often strained. (i wonder why??)

He puts on a good show. he's a master at hamming it up for the audience.

But even in his fake version of the night, his smiles don't always reach his eyes.

Unsurprisingly, he seems the most genuinely happy in the beginning of the evening, when he's looking at Aniq (but he's also in motion so any shots are kinda blurry).
