Dandy’s World Halloween Yap: Part 2
!! SPOILERS !!
alright so yesterday i promised that today i’d talk about the halloween twisteds, i still haven’t seen eclipse as much as i’d like, but i’ll work with it!
twisted ribecca: okay so she was cool the first few times but i’m getting tired of seeing her really quickly, especially when she keeps taking up the guaranteed event slot on the halloween maps… already completed her research early on.
twisted soulvester: i saw him so much yesterday and today he seemed a lot more shy—i basically only got him on event map floors. he’s slow, but has a high attention span, so when you’re used to normal twisteds breaking off, he’ll still be following you. also, the machine guarding can get pretty annoying… though it is funny to see a twisted standing on a treadmill machine as if they’re doing it! completed his research today.
twisted eclipse: so i know that rares are harder to find than mains when you get past floor 14, but dang, she is hard to find. though at least when she sees anyone, you immediately know she’s there because she howls. i was doing a machine at one point, heard the howling, and like IMMEDIATELY jumped off and ran over to find her.
she’s pretty fast, but not twisted cocoa level— i think about the same speed as twisted yatta, judging from distracting them together. as for her howling attracting other twisteds, not sure what the range on that is, but i haven’t really seen it matter much.
i have 35% research on her..
twisted gourdy: oh boy, he was hard to find today. especially once i hit 96% research, he would NOT spawn for anything.. alright so for anyone who hasn’t seen him, twisted gourdy’s gimmick is that he starts out passive, but has a bar that charges over time, kind of like glisten, except instead of being near him, you have to feed him items. he’ll eat anything, but you can only give him the first thing in your inventory, so be careful what you put where or you might end up having to feed him medkits..
if his bar gets full or if panic mode is triggered, he goes aggro. aggro gourdy is at least twisted pebble speed. playing as myself, i could outrun him in panic mode (using dp/ss), but just barely. i don’t remember if we had suppression though, it was a high floor so we likely did.
NOT recommended to let gourdy pop early or to bring him to ele for aggro, rather what you want to do is have the higher stealth people who want research (aka, the rodger swarm) wait near him, and then have a lower stealth but faster toon grab him off them and everyone runs like hell to the elevator. the reason why you don’t have the distractor bring him in the first place is that 1) he won’t be very far behind them, so when they run in and he aggros on other people, the others are likely to get hit, and 2) he can glitch if he chases someone into the elevator and get stuck in a way where he’s unable to aggro on anyone else.
if it comes down to it, i’d probably feed him a medkit rather than letting him pop early. he is a massive threat when aggroed early.
completed his research and managed to collect enough pumpkins to buy him!
PSA: TWISTED PEBBLE SOUND STILL BUGGED!!
if you’ve seen pebble lately, you might have noticed that you can’t hear him walking. i think this was an attempt to fix the bug where he was way too loud, but uhh. ya no this is SO MUCH worse..
i ran into a blackout with twisted pebble and twisted gourdy on floor 18, in a trio (myself as gourdy and two of our friends as vee and ribecca) and it was A NIGHTMARE!
first, the only reason we had any warning that pebble was there was vee’s ability. otherwise we’d have been totally blindsided.
second, being unable to hear him when you also can’t see him is very, very bad. yall who played the christmas event might remember twisted coal? well i never saw her, but i’ve heard she was awful in blackouts—this is basically that, a silent and near invisible pebble.
third, it was shelly’s floor, so yeah, that sucked. i ended up pulling pebble off vee and then using a boc to run around the entire map to escape. all three of us went from full hp to one heart on that floor.. we couldn’t even get any gourdy research because it was too dangerous to try to run around with him with an EVIL RABID DOG on the loose..
for obvious reasons this bug is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS !! beware of twisted pebble, especially in blackouts, because not hearing him DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING currently. if you do know he’s there, watch for him carefully, since you won’t get audio warning if he gets close.
i really really hope they fix this quickly because as it is, it’s very much a potential run ender, especially if you’re playing a low speed toon and you run into pebble unexpectedly in a blackout.
