For My Love, Who Is No Longer With Us
All at once, we were in the dark, in quiet,
When I tried to lean in and give a kiss,
Oh! My poor heart was in such a riot
--But I was foiled, left ‘lone in an abyss.
I compared you to the midsummer trees,
And to the moon shining brightly in June,
But, alas, you gave me tartness of peas,
With puckered mouth resulting from a prune.
I wanted you to glow like a crystal,
--Alas, you glowed like drunkard from a bar;
I resolved, my love, to use my pistol,
Steal you away from your silly guitar.
One minute you smiled, while I brooded,
The next, the messy deed was concluded.
Mind Tag
They run and hide and hope not to be found I look and look, searching any place near They never stop moving, swirling around They are dead silent, no sound you could hear Nothing is clear; my thoughts are all jumbled Overlapping, pushed aside, squeezed between Impossible thoughts, my brain has crumbled And even so, none will ever be seen But finally I found what to look for An almost invisible state of mind Difficult to find, unless from the core Unusual thought that you'd never find The light of my world, unable to fade You're all that I want, my life would be made.
